Ergonomics for designers
Please note: The German version of the KAN Praxis ergonomic lecture modules has been updated. An English version of the updated modules is in preparation.
- are responsible for designing work equipment and machines which are modern, function to a high standard, and are long-lasting
- they involve the people who will work on these machines in their plans
- designers think ergonomically.
It is however important that machinery and work equipment satisfy the relevant standards and permit healthy work. The human operator should be the yardstick for the machine rather than having to adapt to it. Ease of use is also an important criterion for the company's selection of a particular machine, since a machine that is well adapted to its human operator can reduce the physical stress and therefore absences from work. It can also shorten processing times, making the production process more cost-efficient.
